The first of a matched pair — same design, different tree.

Red oak, warm and open-grained, turned with fine scored rings at the cap and tip: a plain profile with deliberate detail where the fingers find it. Laura turned it and finished it with friction polish and wax, letting the oak speak in its own tan voice.

Its only sibling is white ash. They are not identical; they just dress alike.
