Where the light goes last — a ridgeline for the mantel, shaped from reclaimed pine and cedar.
Each layer keeps its own tone: pine holding honey and gold, cedar running deep amber-brown. JJ shapes the silhouette by hand after the horizon of the San Luis Valley, letting knots and ridges stand where the wood insists. Hand-rubbed Danish oil under a satin seal gives the surface the low glow of late sun on timber.
It asks for a shelf, a sill, a mantel — somewhere the eye rests at the end of the day. Decades from now, it will still be holding that horizon.
Four exist; no two alike. Product will differ slightly from photo.

About JMMS
JM Mountain Studio is a small workshop in southern Colorado where reclaimed wood, mountain air, and quiet craftsmanship come together.
-
Quality and Care
Nothing here is rushed or mass-produced. Every mark, tone, and edge carries a human touch and the story of the material itself.
-
Inspiration
Each piece — from hand-carved mountain scenes to turned vessels and boards — is made to last and meant to be lived with.
