Every piece in this pen was left over from something else — and too good to burn.

Padauk, maple, and cherry offcuts from the studio's board work, joined by Laura into a single blank, the gaps filled with padauk sawdust so even the dust got a second career. Turned, polished, glossed.

Nothing here was purchased for the purpose; everything was rescued for it. The scrap bin objected. It was overruled.
