A pen with weather in it — high-desert juniper, dense and slow-grown, the tree that leans into the wind for a living.
The grain runs in close, warm contours under a hand-rubbed oil finish, banded like the years that made it. Laura felled the tree herself, milled it, and turned this barrel from the wood — beginning to end, one pair of hands.
Juniper endures dryness, altitude, and neglect for centuries standing up; it will manage a desk. Not many pens can name the tree they came from.
